Games Designer by Galactic Software for the
unexpanded VIC-20.
This will let you create your own simple games.
The programs on side 1 of the cassette create
the game, with each program dealing with a different
aspect such as graphics, tune, sound effects etc.
Side 2 contains the Main Game Base, (reproduced
in this archive as a standalone TAP), and three
sample games from Galactic: Kanga, Zyon and
Krazy Maze.
To play any of these three games, or to play your
own creation, load the game with:
LOAD "GAME NAME",1,1
After loading is complete, load the Main Game Base
with the standard LOAD "" command. The Main Game
Base is basically a run-time library for games created
by this package. It is the first program on side 2
of the cassette but I have also included it as a
separate .TAP to enable easy distribution of your own
games. (Its copy-protection mechanism means that you
can't LOAD and SAVE it like normal programs without
a lot of work, hence its inclusion here as a standalone
TAP.)
After loading the Main Game Base, type RUN to start the
game.
If there is demand I will type in the instruction booklet
for the Games Designer package, though it should be
fairly straightforward.
